The 2020 Leaders’ List is open for entries

The 2020 Leaders’ List is open for entries and we would like to encourage you to nominate yourself or someone you know.

The Leaders’ List is a collection of stories about people with learning disabilities and/or autism which celebrates their achievements. Everyone who enters or is nominated receives a certificate and 40 winners’ stories will be published online and shared with the media.

In 2019, the stories were read more than 17 thousand times on the Dimensions website and shared with over 30,000 people who follow Dimensions on social media. Some were also published in national newspapers, and the list was featured on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2.

This year we’re thrilled to welcome Coronation Street actor and 2019 Sports, arts and entertainment Leader; Liam Bairstow as our celebrity ambassador. He said:

“I’m proud to be a Learning Disability and Autism Leader. I’m happy my work has been celebrated and I can inspire other people. I hope lots of people enter the Leaders’ List this year so they can share their stories, celebrate their achievements and feel proud of what they’ve done.”

You can watch a video he kindly recorded for us here.

Liam joins our panel of 17 judges; 2/3 of whom have a learning disability and/or autism.

The Leaders’ List is in its third year and this time we have an extra category to celebrate how people are coping during the coronavirus crisis and helping others. This year’s categories are:

  • Local communities
  • Sports, arts and entertainment
  • Work and education
  • Advocacy, policy and the media
  • Stories from self-isolation and the coronavirus.

Visit the Dimensions website to find out more and start your entry. There are plain text and easy read forms available for you to choose from.

Anyone with a learning disability and/or autism can enter themselves or be nominated by somebody else. Entries close at 10am on 1 July so it’s time to start thinking about who you’d like to nominate.
