My Rights

Rights are things you are allowed to do. For example you have the right to get married and the right to vote. Rights tell us how we should be treated. For example you have the right to be treated with respect.

You have the right to be as independent as you can be.

You have the right to choose the people who support you.

You have the right to information that is important to you.

You have the right to be supported with your health.

You have the right to education.

You have the right to relationships.

You have the right to privacy, respect and dignity.

You have the right to be treated fairly whatever your age, religion, place where you were born, whether you are gay or straight, male or female.

Everyone has the right to these things, and the right to be happy. You have a responsibility to respect other people’s rights, and we have a responsibility to help you achieve these things.
