Discovery launches Welcome Lunch for new colleagues
Discovery have launched a Welcome Lunch event for new colleagues.
As part of Discovery’s colleague retention scheme, they have introduced Welcome Lunch events for all colleagues who have successfully completed their first six months within the organisation.
The first event was a small informal gathering with a buffet lunch, held at The Canalside in Bridgwater.
As well as colleagues who have passed their probationary period, Operations Director Kim Moore and the leadership group were all on hand to congratulate people and answer any questions they may have had. At the event Kim Moore gave a brief presentation thanking all those who attended for their efforts so far in completing their first six months. Care certificates were also presented.
Starting a new job is never easy, so we want to make joining Discovery the most positive experience possible.
Andy Lee, Discovery HR Change Manager
The event allows Discovery to show appreciation to employees and understand how new recruits experience their first six months. The aim is to help Discovery to improve recruitment and to keep our fantastic staff members.
Discovery HR Change Manager, Andy Lee, said: ‘The Welcome Lunch was a great way of getting colleagues together to celebrate their achievements and to show our appreciation for them joining the Discovery team.
“Starting a new job is never easy, so we want to make joining Discovery the most positive experience possible. Thank you everyone for coming to the first of many Welcome Lunches we have planned for the year. With your help we will make the difference for the people we support.”

A huge well done to all involved!
