Dimensions announces next Chief Executive

Rachael Dodgson has been appointed as Dimensions’ next Group CEO. The appointment has been made following a rigorous, open and competitive recruitment process which included the use of external consultants, visits to our services and input from people we support and their family members.

Rachael is currently Managing Director of Dimensions UK. She’s a qualified social worker who has worked in a range of roles with people with learning disabilities (including as a support worker, registered manager and Group Operations Director). She also spent several years with CQC working on user involvement, policy, strategy and regulatory methods as Head of Adult Social Care Policy. She will take up her post as Group CEO next March. Until then, Steve Scown will continue as CEO.

Chair of the Board Nick Baldwin said, “In Rachael, we have an outstanding leader to take Dimensions forward. Rachael will bring both her exceptional experience and fantastic vision for Dimensions and our sector as a whole to bear in her new role.

“She is a passionate advocate for the people we support and is deeply committed to our values and vision to make better lives for more people.”

Nick Baldwin, Group Chair

Rachael said, “I’m thrilled to be appointed as the next Group CEO. I’ve been with Dimensions for just over two years and am passionate about all we do and everything we stand for. I am ambitious for the people we support, colleagues and the organisation. Steve is a fantastic CEO and will be a tough act to follow. I am looking forward to continuing to work with him and my executive colleagues over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition next year.
