Communicating with relatives – GDPR 2018
Discovery Latest18 June 2018
On May 25th the data protection laws in the UK changed. The new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) make it unlikely that any organisation can contact you unless you have given your consent for this contact.
We would like to keep you updated on what’s going on within Discovery – updates such as newsletters, information on our day services transformation, an annual family survey and the occasional letter. By giving your permission we can update you on our work supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to lead ordinary lives in the local community.
Without your consent, we are much less likely to be able to get your feedback on how Discovery can improve our services and we will be less able to involve you in the life of our organisation.
We promise we will never sell your personal information to any other organisation.
We’d like to make clear that whatever agreement your relative has in place with us regarding sharing their personal information with you will not be affected by the change to data protection laws.
If you would like to receive updates on what’s going in within Discovery, download the communications preferences form here.
Please complete and return the form. Once completed please email a copy to email@example.com, alternatively you can post it to:
